She Speaks Silence

She speaks in silence
Existing in nonexistence
Seen by her “friends”
Only when they need a fool.

She’s always used
And always convinces herself
That it will never happen again
Because they are her “friends”.
She cries as she sings
Dancing late at night
Beneath the silent stars
And the cold night skies.

The wind tries to comfort her
And the rain tries to heal her
But it’s useless, she’s useless,
Worthless and dead.
Never again to see the light
Within the darkness,
But always seeing the darkness
Within the light.

A single ring
That ties her to the past
A past where she belonged
A past where she was seen
Where she was heard
A single thin piece of metal
Twined around her thumb
Gold pressed into silver
Like a strand of sun
Wound tight around a moonbeam.

With nothing left to live for
And nothing left to die for
How can she keep going?
All she can do is keep screaming
And crying for help
Late at night as the rain falls
And the thunder and lightning crash
And dance around her
As she fades away into the darkness.
